2013 CESEF SILENT AUCTION

It is that time of the year again - we get to meet and catch up with each other at the annual CESEF silent auction.  As usual, the silent auction will be held during the opening reception of the CES conference.  This year, it is on June 9th at the Royal York Fairmont Hotel in Toronto.

Last year, your generous donations to the CESEF silent auction helped us raise funds so we can continue to provide scholarships, awards, mentorships and other educational programs for individuals who want to pursue and strengthen their evaluation skills and knowledge.

The easiest way of recording donations to the CESEF silent auction is to go directly to the spreadsheet and enter your own information there.

  1. Make sure you are not logged into to any Gmail account
  2. Click the following link  https://drive.google.com/?tab=oo&authuser=0#my-drive

EVALUATION STUDENTS NEED MORE THAN FUNDING

In partnership with the Consortium of Universities for Evaluation Education (CUEE), a needs assessment survey was completed with 300 students enrolled in evaluation programs in nine post-secondary institutions.  Most institutions surveyed reported a need for financial support for students undertaking evaluation education.  Students also highlighted need for help in developing evaluation projects of interest to the evaluation community.  The results will be presented at the 2013 CESEF Auction to be held in Toronto.

CES/CESEF STUDENT EXCELLENCE ADVANCING EVALUATION KNOWLEDGE (SEEK) AWARD RESULTS

Congratulations to Chi Yan Lam, who is the winner of the 2013 CES/CESEF Student Excellence advancing Evaluation Knowledge (SEEK) Award. Chi's paper impressed the adjudicators for its clear writing, innovative ideas and exploration of how evaluation and innovation mutually reinforce one another.

Congratulations also to Catherine Donnelly who has received an honorable mention in this year’s competition. The adjudicators particularly appreciated how well Catherine's paper articulated the relationship between evaluation and knowledge translation.

Thank you to all the participants and adjudicators for taking part in this year’s competition!

CESEF EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE AWARD

Six candidates for Canadian Evaluation Society Educational Fund (CESEF) Educational Assistance Award were approved for the January 15 intake. This is the highest number of applications approved in any one intake since the Awards were offered. Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to our dedicated adjudicators for their time to review the applications so attentively.
